It is our goal at St. Paul School to foster a love of reading in our students. A good reader has the best chance of being a successful and life long learner. The STAR Reading Program puts students on the track of becoming successful readers and learners.
Twice a year students are given the STAR Reading Test. This test determines a student's reading level. Using the results of the STAR Reading Test, students are given reading level-appropriate materials to read. Students then take quizzes on these readings working toward their quarterly goals.
So, when you hear our students saying things like, "I have to take a quiz" or "I gotta get a new book to read" they are referring to our STAR Reading Program.
This STAR Reading program is headed by Dr. Fanon Howell and Ms. Damary Gonzalez. Their constant support and the support of the Carmel Hill Program make this program possible.
