St. Paul School has been educating God's Children in East Harlem since 1870. Started by the Sisters of Charity, our school has educated thousands of fine young men and women. Our history and mission parallels the mission of The Archdiocese of New York, "to serve God through Catholic education to anyone who heeds his word."

St. Paul School has benefitted through the generosity of philanthropist William Ruane. Mr. Ruane's generosity helped our school by creating a new face for St. Paul School both externally and internally. Although Mr. Ruane has passed away, his organization called The Carmel Hill Program still provides tuition assistance to over 30 students. They also provide support for our Art and Physical Education Program.

Through dedication and incredible generosity, St. Paul is still changing lives.  We graduate students who use their education in all parts of the work force:  Medicine, Engineering, Social Work, Education, etc. 

In the year 2020, St. Paul School will celebrate 150 years of Catholic Education.
