Dear Families and Friends,
As we move into the season of Advent, let us all take some time to reflect on the wondrous gift given to us by God. This gift of his only son, Jesus is a constant reminder of his love for us.
Let us prepare our hearts and minds during this holy season to be ready for his humble birth at Christmas. May he bless our beautiful children, their families and our school.
All the best wishes for a blessed Advent and Merry Christmas!
Peace,
Dr. Joseph Muscente

... and we are hitting the ground running here at St. Paul School.
Our New York State test scores have once again increased in both Math and ELA. We now are the highest performing school in the Catholic School Region of Manhattan in both Math and ELA. Our secret to success is no secret: the answer is hard work.
We have modified our curriculum in Math. We are now using Eureka Math as our main source. Eureka Math closely follows the New York State Common Core standards. It provides our students each day with rigorous, complex Math problems most likely to be seen on a NYS exam. Our students strive for mastery online with KHAN Academy as well as complete Math drills every day in each and every classroom. This combination of "practice makes perfect" and Eureka Math has increased our Math scores tremendously over the past 5 school years.
We have also taken off in ELA. Students are constantly asked to write in all subject areas. Students must support their writing with details. We have daily writing prompts and our older students use WIKIs to answer questions, reflect on their answers and critique other answers, all online of course.
Each student in Grades 5-8 has their very own Chrome Book. This allows our students to be paper free and environmentally responsible. Google Classroom is our Learning Management System and it enables our students and teachers to constantly communicate and improve skills each and every day with the touch of a button. In the near future, we hope to use our Chrome Books to travel all over the world with Google Hangout. It's called Distance Learning and we are about to "take off."
My day is inspired by my passion for education and the constant thirst for knowledge of my students. Watching my students grow, succeed and fluorish is the best reward.
If you are thinking of sending your child here, you are making a great choice. Call our main office at 212-534-0619 and make an appointment to come in and see us in action. We look forward to your visit.
Best Regards,

Thank you for visiting the St. Paul School Website. At St. Paul School we have been educating God's children since 1870. Our mission is to treat each child individually, educating the whole person, and creating a young adult who is well educated, respectful, socially aware and practicing of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
We follow the new adopted Common Core Curriculum. We also give our students the latest and greatest in technology. Our goal is to have our school 100% paperless in the very near future. In every classroom you will see iPads, laptops, desktops and Chrome Books. Many of our textbooks are now online. Technology is the future of our students, and we embrace it here at St. Paul School.
We also offer Pre-Kindergarten for 3-year-olds and FREE Universal Pre-Kindergarten at our school. Our UPK Program follows the Creative Curriculum which helps students explore and learn in a "center based" classroom. Pre-kindergarten students also learn from dramatic play, music, art and other play based activities.
STEM education is also an integral part of our curriculum here at St. Paul School. We push our students to the forefront of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Our students begin exploring STEM areas in kindergarten and continue until the 8th grade. Our goal is to have students embrace STEM, understand it and want it as part of their lives and careers.
We encourage you to come see our school. Please call our office at any time at 212 534-0619 for a personal tour. I look forward to meeting you and your precious children.
Sincerely,

Dr. Joseph Muscente
